Enfield boxer Frank Buglioni produced a stunning last round stoppage to win the British light-heavyweight title against Hosea Burton in Manchester.

Buglioni was behind on points but two knockdowns in the 12th round dramatically landed the victory to end Burton's unbeaten record.

'Wise Guy' Buglioni endured a tough opening round with a flurry of punches from Burton giving him the advantage.

But Buglioni responded strongly in the second round as he took the initiative and had the better of the exchanges.

The momentum continued to build for Buglioni in the next round with Burton on the back foot.

But the champion gained the upper hand in the fourth round with a series of blows doing some damage.

The fight continued to ebb and flow in the next round with both fighters unleashing several blows on their opponent.

Buglioni suffered a cut to his eyebrow in the sixth round but this did not deter him as he continued to come forward.

The Enfield boxer increased his urgency in the seventh round and his aggressive style put Burton under more pressure.

The champion pushed on in the ninth and a series of fierce punches put him in command against the challenger.

Buglioni rallied in the 11th round and had Burton in trouble with a number of heavy blows. He scored the knockdown although the title holder protested against the count.

Time was running out for Buglioni in the final three minutes but he knocked down his rival and Burton staggered to his feet.

Buglioni went in for the kill and a big punch was too much for Burton as the referee waved the fight off to give the Enfield boxer an unforgettable victory.

Buglioni, who welcomed a rematch against Burton, told Sky Sports: "I've had lots of ups and downs but I finally got the British title and I'm just thrilled to bits.

"It was a hard fight and didn't box to the best of my ability but I dug deep and grinded it out."
