Spurs were beaten in the Premier League for the first time this season after Chelsea came from behind to win 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham took the lead early on through Christian Eriksen's long-range effort, before Pedro equalised for the home side.

Chelsea completed the fightback shortly after the break, when Tottenham defenders afforded Victor Moses an acre of space in the box to finish.

Spurs made a fast start to the match and Eriksen opened the scoring for the visitors in the 11th minute.

Dele Alli’s probing run set up the Danish midfielder, whose finish with the outside of his boot beat Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois.

The Blues struggled to get a foothold in game early on and had to wait until the half-hour mark to register their first shot on goal.

Despite creating few chances in the first half, the home side went in level at the break thanks to a superb goal by Pedro.

The Spaniard’s neat turn on the edge of the box helped him to work some space before curling a shot past the outstretched Hugo Lloris.

Five minutes into the second half, Chelsea were in front.

Spurs were slow to react when Diego Costa found an unmarked Victor Moses in the box after a good run down the left.

Jan Vertonghen was able to get a boot on the Nigerian international’s shot, but could not prevent him giving the home side the lead.

Tottenham struggled to find a way back into the game and were unable to prevent their first defeat in the league this term.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side next face Premier League strugglers Swansea at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
