Enfield rower Tom Aggar won a bronze medal at the Rio Paralympic Games.
Aggar won bronze in the men’s arms-shoulders single sculls competition.
The rower won gold in Beijing eight years ago in the single sculls and went into London 2012 on a long unbeaten run.
The 32-year-old finished in fourth place four years ago and travelled to Rio determined to make up for this near miss.
Aggar was a heavy favourite in London 2012 but was unable to match his expectations as he missed out on a medal.
The rower has since moved on from this and came away with a silver medal at the world championships last year.
Aggar qualified for Sunday’s final after winning the repechage with a convincing performance.
The rower went out strongly early on in the race and dominated throughout to qualify for the final.
Aggar was part of a memorable day for Great Britain after the team won 21 medals on Super Sunday in Rio.
It was Britain’s best one-day haul in the last three Paralympic Games.
