Enfield Borough travelled to Grendon Rangers on Saturday and won 4-0 in South Midlands Division Two as they built on their 5-1 win over St Neots Town Reserves.

It was Grendon who made the better start to the game as they put Boro on the back foot with long diagonal passes and early running.

Early on Grendon looked dangerous without creating any real chances and with 12 minutes on the clock the home side looked to have taken the lead when their forward tapped the ball in but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Romoney Crichlow-Noble and Jamiah Plentie-Lawrence started to take control of the midfield and Borough started to play some slick football.

Alfie Hatch out-smarted Grendon’s entire team with a quick free-kick and looped the ball into the net to open the scoring.

Boro were looking confident and it was not long before they got a second. Hatch was involved as he assisted Solomon Nwabuokei putting him through on goal. The tricky forward calmly rounded the keeper to make it 2-0.

Henderson Brown added a third after Dervon Hurde controlled the ball and delivered a delightful cross for the player to head in.

In the second half Borough continued their dominance and with 55 minutes gone El-Amir Ibrahim almost got his first goal of the season.

After a mazy run he fired his shot just past the top corner and shortly after Nwabuokei had his effort cleared off the line.

Rangers continued to push for a way back into the match but there no getting past the centre-back pairing of Brian Tshibangu and Guy Kiangebeni.

Instead they were limited to taking long shots that never troubled debutant goalkeeper Mario Cenolli.

There was no way back for Grendon with Boro delivering the final blow in the 68th minute as Nwabuokei scored his second of the game after rounding the keeper.

Boro face Thame Rangers at home on Saturday.
