Hugo Lloris played the full 90 minutes for France last night, who progressed to the knockout stage of Euro 2016 with a 2-0 victory over Albania.

The Spurs goalkeeper captained Les Bleus, in what was a relatively quiet night for the 29-year-old, with Albania not recording a single shot on target.

However, the Albanians did hit the post midway through the second half, when a cross into the box rebounded off Bacary Sagna and hit the woodwork.

France found it difficult to break down their opponents' stubborn defence, with Paul Pogba volleying over the hosts best chance in the second half, following a delicious cross from Dimitri Payet with the outside of his boot.

After Olivier Giroud’s header hit the post, it looked like the Albanians were going to hold on for a draw, until France took the lead in the 89th minute.

Substitute Antoine Griezmann nodded the ball home from Adil Rami’s deep cross, before Payet added a second with the last kick of the game.

The West Ham midfielder collected the ball on the edge of the box and advanced forward, before cutting inside and delightfully curling the ball home.

Lloris was a fixture in the Spurs side which finished third in the Premier League during the 2015/16 season, making 46 appearances in all competitions for the North London side.

France’s last group game takes place on Sunday, when they take on Switzerland in Lille at 8pm.
