North Enfield continued their winning ways with a comfortable 39-run win over Bishop’s Stortford Seconds in Division Two B.

Stortford won the toss and asked North Enfield to bat for the first time this season and that decision seemed to be a bad one.

Openers captain Kieran Jones (96) and Stuart Halley (37) amassing a 116-run opening partnership. The fall of Halley brought the inform Chris Gillman to the crease.

He promptly went about adding to his already impressive run total for the season with a brisk 47.

North Enfield pushed hard in the last ten overs and finished on 238 for six from their 50.

Stortford’s reply got off to a bad start, when they found themselves nought for one after the first over. When Derrick Sanders (two for 13) had the opening batsmen caught behind.

They fought back well to be 122 for three after 30 overs, but once again North Enfield’s bowlers squeezed the run rate in the middle order.

With some fantastic fielding in the deep from Zach Brown combined with tight bowling from Shahid (one for 38) and Maroof (one for 43) Ebrahim Stortford were never up with the run rate as they were bowled out for 199 from 48 overs.

In Division Six B, North Enfield Seconds lost their third consecutive game after a 155-run defeat to Eversholt.

The home team won the toss and chose to bat and made the most of good batting conditions scoring 283 in their 50 overs.

In total 110 runs came in the last ten overs as Eversholt’s clean hitting batsmen consistently found the boundaries.

North Enfield’s reply didn’t get of to a good start as they lost two quick wickets. Richard White and Garry Orton steadied the ship but once they were dismissed, more wickets fell and were all out for 128.
