North Enfield have won promotion from Herts Division Three A despite their title decider being called off due to rain.

The team were due to face Allenburys and County Hall but the game was surprisingly cancelled because of a wet pitch.

Amazingly the game was one of only four games out of the 134 played that day to be cancelled due to the weather.

The home side called the game off late Saturday morning and given the team's positions in the league table, with the standard ten points each going to both teams due to a cancelled game Allenburys & County Hall maintained their three point advantage over North Enfield denying the chance of a thrilling conclusion to a hard fought competitive season.

It was an anticlimactic way to end the season but many positives can be taken in to next year and the new challenges of Division Two cricket. Not the least the batting form of skipper Kieran Jones scoring nearly 600 runs at an average of over 60 and the performances of the bowling unit taking 122 wickets between them at an average of 17.04. Shahid Ebrahim led the wicket tally with 28 from just 15 games.

North Enfield Seconds lost by 91 runs against Old Haberdashers in Division Six B.

The visitors scored 266 from their 50 overs, a good total on a slow, turning pitch. North Enfield's batsmen fought hard to reach the total but ultimately ended up well short on 175 for four.

It was a good season for the side finishing mid-table following two years of successive promotion.
