Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew says winger Yannick Bolasie would be foolish to turn down a move to Tottenham Hotspur if Spurs meet the Eagles' valuation of the player.

Bolasie, 26, has been a revelation since moving to Selhurst Park in 2012 and his impressive performances have caught the eye of Spurs, among others.

He scored four times and managed six assists last term, enough to guide the south Londoners to a tenth-place finish in the Premier League.

Palace have reportedly put a £40 million pricetag on the former Plymouth Argyle wideman and when it was put to Pardew that the DR Congo international had not quashed talk of a move, he said: “If any of my players get linked with bigger clubs I would not expect them to. It would be a foolish move.

“Players move a lot in the current world of football, they do not stay at clubs for five to seven years. You have to keep your options open and I have got no problem with that.

“Yannick is a player who will be linked with other clubs such as Tottenham all the time because he is an exciting player.”

Bolasie fuelled speculation of a move away from Selhurst Park at the weekend by hinting he may be ready to leave the club.

He said: “I am a loyal guy but this is a business. Opportunities to play for a top club do not swing by every day.”
