Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly close to agreeing a deal to sign Lyon striker Clinton N’Jie after the French club accepted a £10 million bid.

The 21-year-old scored eight goals in 33 appearances last season and is expected to travel to London this week for a medical and to complete his move to White Hart Lane.

Spurs, who only had Harry Kane as a recognisable striker in their squad to face Manchester United on Saturday, are looking to introduce some much-needed pace into their attack before the transfer window closes.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to Sky Sports after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday and confirmed the club’s interest intention to make at least one further addition.

“I never speak about rumours," said the Argentine. "If you check in the last few weeks, a lot of names are linked with us.

“But this is private, our target and I hope it can happen quick. It is very clear that we need to add more players."

The young forward, who has been capped 11 times for Cameroon scoring six times, can play through the middle or out wide, with pace being his biggest asset.
