Enfield golfer Harry Casey clinched his second Alps Tour title after winning the Open International de la Mirabelle d’or in France on Sunday.

Casey shot a final round 67 to finish on 15-under-par which was one stroke clear of France's Damien Perrier.

This success has catapulted him to the top of the Alps Tour Order of Merit mid-way through his debut season as a professional.

The Enfield Golf Club member told the Alps Tour website: "I have to admit I did not sleep well last night, I was nervous. Even coming with the leading shots at the end of the round I did not feel that comfortable. On the last hole, I missed the fairway and I had a bad lie so I had to lay up because of the water, I could not hit the green. But now I feel excited and happy."

Having carded rounds of 67, four-under-par and 65 in the opening two rounds, Casey shot a third round 69 in breezy conditions to take a one shot lead into the final day.

This was new territory for Casey. His previous victory came in Austria when he burst out of the pack with a closing round of 65 to claim his first Alps Tour title.

But the 22-year-old cast aside any nerves on the final day to hit every green on the front nine to go out in 33 which maintained his slender lead.

Having eagled the par-5 12th on Saturday, Casey was one shot ahead of playing partner Eduardo Larranaga before a majestic five-iron to 10 feet on the same hole set up another eagle which extended his lead to four shots.

The Enfield ace took to a two shot lead into the 18th hole. After finding a bad lie off the tee, he showed plenty of maturity by laying up short of the water and a pitch and two putts were enough to claim victory.

With this win, Harry Casey took pole position on Alps Tour ranking. It is Casey's second victory in the space of less than two months. He landed his maiden Alps Tour title in May when he won the Gosser Open in Austria.

Casey will attempt to back it up with more success at the Flory van Donck Trophy at Golf du Mont Garni in Belgium which starts today.
