Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly still hopeful of luring Morgan Schneiderlin to White Hart Lane this summer.

Reports in the Evening Standard say that Mauricio Pochettino believes he can still capture the Southampton star despite his wish to play in the Champions League.

The French midfielder, though, is thought to be valued by his club at around £25 million, which may be a stumbling block for Spurs.

Arsene Wenger of London rivals Arsenal is an admirer of the midfielder, and Manchester United are also interested, but both are also reluctant to spend the lump sum on the 25-year-old.

Spurs do though have Andros Townsend, who has expressed his desire to remain at White Hart Lane, as a bargaining tool. The Saints lodged a failed bid for the winger last summer.

France international Schneiderlin made 29 appearances for Ronald Koeman’s team last season, scoring five goals.
