Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend is reportedly a target of former Spurs manager Tim Sherwood.
The Aston Villa boss has set his sights on the England international, according to the Daily Mirror, and wants to agree a fee with Spurs to bring him to Villa Park.
Southampton and Queens Park Rangers were rebuffed in bids for the 23-year-old last summer, and it is thought that Spurs would command a fee in excess of the £12 million the Saints offered last term.
Townsend’s form at Spurs has been patchy at best, though he continues to impress for England and scored his third goal in only nine caps in March’s 1-1 draw against Italy.
