Enfield’s Alison Waters was part of the England team which won the European Squash Team Championships for the 37th time on Saturday.
However, there was disappointment for the 31-year-old, who went down 11-7, 11-4, 9-11, 11-5 to Camille Serme as England overcame France 2-1.
Emma Beddoes sealed victory with an 11-5, 11-5, 11-4 win over Laura Pomportes in Herning.
Sarah-Jane Perry had got England off to the ideal start with an 11-4, 11-6, 2-11, 11-6 success over Coline Aumard before Waters succumbed to Serme.
England had beaten Spain, Wales and Ireland 3-0 in their pool before defeating Denmark by the same scoreline in the semi-finals to set up a final tussle with France.
