BEAMING Charmaine Clark became the envy of girls worldwide when she rubbed shoulders with royalty.

Charmaine was one of four pupils from Govan High School picked to jet to London and lunch with Princes William and Harry.

The youngster is the winner of a prestigious Diana Award - launched in Scotland last year to recognise the special achievements of teenagers across the country.

Charmaine, 15, caught up with William and Harry at a glittering lunchtime event the day before the Concert for Diana - a star-studded show marking the Princess' birthday.

One of 80 award-winners chosen from across Britain, the fourth year pupil joined William in the Royal Box to watch Canadian singer Nelly Furtado rehearse for the show. The inspirational youngster scooped the award for her fund-raising for Glasgow's Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.

Charmaine also gets involved in her local community, raising awareness of the Diana Awards and helping with a dance education programme for other young people.

Maggie Turner, Director of the Diana Award said: "Charmaine is a tremendous asset and the Diana Award is very proud of her."
