FORMER Fame Academy star David Sneddon heads a diverse line-up for a summer music and dance festival.
The Paisley-born singer/songwriter has top billing at the Kilsyth International Carnival 2007.
But he has strong competition from folk-fusion outfit the Peatbog Faeries, whose trademark mixture of Celtic, world, funk, rock and trance helped them to be named Best Live Act in the 2005 Scots Trad Music Awards.
The 2002 Fame Academy winner is also up against Glasgow-based guitarist, pianist and singer Indiana Gregg, originally from the US, and Brazilian parade performers, the Eletricat dancers.
Around 30 music and dance acts are promised across four stages and there will also be space for a crafts market, ethnic and traditional food, a bar, funfair rides, costumed parade and fiesta.
The festival also includes the Kilsyth Thistle Pipe Band, the KIC Demon Drummers, a string of rock bands such as Kinch, The Mode, Oswald, Tramps and Horses and Federation of the Disco Pimp.
It all takes place at the Colzium - a woodland glen and country estate in Kilsyth.
The line-up also boasts Chinese and Japanese dancers, jugglers, belly dancers and a celidh band.
The carnival, which begins at noon and runs until 6pm, is backed by North Lanarkshire Council, EventScotland and Kelvin Valley Properties, and will take place on August 12. Entry to the festival is £2/£1.
