Spurs striker Harry Kane has joined an elite club after he was named Barclays Premier League Player of the Month for the second time in a row.

Only Dennis Bergkamp, Robbie Fowler and Cristiano Ronaldo have achieved the feat in the award's 21-year history.

Kane won the award for his four-goal haul in February. He scored twice in the North London Derby against Arsenal, and netted again against Liverpool.

He also scored the last-minute equaliser as Tottenham salvaged a 2-2 draw with West Ham.

Kane, 21, said: "I'm very happy. To win it once a year is great, let alone twice in two months.

“For me, the Arsenal game was the highlight of February. To score twice and to get that late winner was incredible.

“This season has happened so fast but I’ve always believed in myself. I just had to take my chance and thankfully I’ve done that.”

He could now make history with a third award in a row, having already kicked off the month of March with a brace against Queen's Park Rangers.

"To make history would be special," he said. "I've scored a couple of goals this month and there are still a few more games to go so hopefully I will be able to get a few more goals and we will see what happens. I am looking forward to the games ahead."

West Bromich Albion's Tony Pulis was named Manager of the Month for February.
