Brimsdown stretched their unbeaten run to 16 games with an emphatic 7-3 win over Wolverton in Spartan South Midlands Division Two on Saturday.

The Limers had to come from a goal down in order to claim all three points and with only two minutes played, Wolverton stunned Brimsdown by taking the lead.

From a well-taken free-kick, the Wolverton captain beat everyone in the air and nodded the ball in.

Brimsdown immediately pushed for an equalizer and on 15 minutes their pressure paid off.

A poor clearance from Wolverton was met by Alfie Hatch and confidently fired the ball home to level.

Just 10 minutes later The Limers took the lead for the first time. A free-kick from Hatch was swept in by Ralston Gabriel - the prolific forward’s 25th of a memorable campaign.

On the half-hour mark, The Limers stretched their lead. Hatch's whipped corner eluded everyone and flew straight in to make it 3-1.

Just when Brimsdown were starting to look comfortable, a poor mistake in the Brimsdown defence allowed Wolverton to grab their second from close range.

Brimsdown started the second period well and saw off Wolverton’s challenge with two quick goals.

In the 73rd minute Gabriel played in Henderson Browne. Browne cut inside a defender before hitting a hard low shot through the keeper’s legs.

Five minutes later, Gabriel beat two players and squared the ball to Leon Constantine. The ex-Port Vale and Leeds United striker made no mistake to extend Brimsdown’s lead to 5-2.

The Limers were now enjoying themselves and playing their best football of the game. A fantastic move, involving Ralston Gabriel and Trae Gabriel resulted in the latter beating two men before firing home with aplomb.

Wolverton scored a late penalty - awarded for handball - to reduce the arrears but Brimsdown won a penalty of their own in injury time which was slotted home by Hatch.
