Enfield’s Winter League Cup dreams were ended in the semi-finals, 20-10 at the hands of Bexley as they were outclassed by a side featuring two Great Britain Olympians.

Despite a five-goal handicap advantage in Enfield’s favour, Bexley were still the favourites for the tie as they had Olympians Jack Waller and Sean King starting for them, the pair scoring 12 goals between them.

Enfield struggled to cope with the star-studied line up in the opening quarter which they lost 7-3, although Alex Waller, Andy Rolle and Rob Lucas did manage to get on the score sheet.

Rolle continued his good form scoring two in the second quarter, but home side Bexley continued to dominate and extended their lead to 14-6 going into the break.

The contest became a lot tighter in the third as Enfield produced some solid defensive work to restrict their more illustrious opponent to just three goals; Rob Threadgold and Charlie Briers both on target for the away side.

That trend continued in the final quarter as Enfield frustrated Bexley with the score ended up 3-2. Waller scored his fourth of the night while his brother Richard scored the other but it was not enough to turn around an imposing lead.
