Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela scored his first goal for Argentina as they disposed of World Champions Germany 4-2 on Wednesday night.

The Tottenham winger expertly converted Angel Di Maria’s cross with a side-foot volley into the top corner 40 minutes into the contest, a re-run of the 2014 World Cup Final.

Goals from the Premier League trio of Sergio Aguero (Manchester City), Federico Fernandez (Swansea City) and Di Maria (Manchester United) were enough to see off the Germans.

Lamela was replaced in the 68th minute by Fernando Gago.

Elsewhere, Spurs playmaker Christian Eriksen played the first half for Denmark, who were beaten 2-1 at home by Turkey in an international friendly.

Danny Rose and Andros Townsend failed to make it off the bench for England as they beat Norway 1-0 in a forgettable Wembley encounter.

Finally, youngster Josh Onomah was a late substitute for England Under-18s, who thrashed the Netherlands 4-1.
