Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino is attempting to offload several players in order to sign Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck on loan, according to the Daily Mail.
The Red Devils are understood to be looking for a loan fee of anywhere between £2m-£4m for the season.
Welbeck, 23, has failed to start a Premier League match this season and with Louis van Gaal set to sign Radamel Falcao, Welbeck has been deemed surplus to requirements.
Sunderland have also been linked with a move for the England international, who spent the 2010/11 season on loan at The Stadium of Light.
Sandro, Lewis Holtby, Aaron Lennon and Zeki Fryers are among those who could make way as Pochettino seeks to trim his squad.
