Enfield and Haringey sprinter Desiree Henry recorded a new personal best in qualifying for the semi-finals of the 100m at the European Athletics Championships in Zurich.
Henry, 18, came second in qualifying this morning in a time of 11.21, enough to see her through to Wednesday's semi-final.
The teenager finished just behind Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands, who crossed the line in 11.10 to take first place.
Should Henry be successful in the semi-final, she will progress to Wednesday evening's final. The Londoner is also included in Team GB's squad for the women's 4x100m, which begins on Saturday.
Team GB's Bianca Williams begins her quest for 200m success on Thursday with qualifying.
Enfield team-mate, Margaret Adeoye, also begins her championships with the 4x400m qualifying heats on Saturday. The final is late on Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Chijindu Ujah is part of the Team GB men's 4x100m squad, due to start on the same day with qualifying.
