Enfield Town have been boosted by the addition of three new faces ahead of the new season, whilst Jamie Richards has left the club due to 'personal reasons'.

Towners boss George Borg has signed Harlow Town pair Robbie Martin and Stanley Muguo, as well as Cowdenbeath's Jamie Pyper. However, forward Richards has left the QEII Stadium due to personal reasons.

Borg told the Enfield Independent last week he hoped to conclude a deal for Martin, who has also played for Watford, Havant and Waterlooville and St Albans. The 29-year-old played for Borg at Braintree Town previously.

Speaking to the club's website, Martin said: "It's great to be working with George again. We had some great times at Braintree and I'm really pleased to be here. Our training session went well last night; the guys are in good shape and we are ready for the game on Saturday."

Thirty-year-old Cameroonian midfielder Muguo also arrives from Harlow, adding a physical presence in the middle of the park.

Also joining Enfield is 20-year-old centre-back Pyper, who has joined the Towners after receiving international clearance from the Scottish FA to leave Championship side Cowdenbeath.

Borg said: "I'm really pleased to have the paperwork taken care of; Jamie is a good lad and a great young player. He will do well at Enfield and he gives me options at the back, because he can play in different roles, either as a centre back or sweeper."

Meanwhile Richards, who scored three times after joining from Ware in February, has left the QEII Stadium but boss Borg has left the door open for the frontman in the future.

He said: "We're sad to see Jamie go, but I do understand he has work commitments to deal with.

"I'd like to say a big 'thank you' to him. He's a big character and having him in my corner helped us so much, he was great at getting the team up for the fight when we needed it and he bagged a few important goals for us."

The captures of Martin, Muguo and Pyper follow confirmation of the arrival of Braintree Town's England 'C' goalkeeper, Nathan McDonald, on a season-long loan deal.

Town begin their 2014/15 campaign at home to Kingstonian today (Saturday).
