Enfield Town continued their pre-season preparations with a 2-1 defeat at Harlow Town on Friday evening.
Manager George Borg shuffled his pack, with youngsters Jamie Pyper, Wale Adedji and Charlie Hunter all included in the squad, with the game taking place on Harlow's 3G pitch.
Hosts Harlow took the lead after 11 minutes when Alex Read nodded home from James Smith's header across the face of goal.
Just four minutes later, the Hawks doubled their lead when Smith skipped through several challenges and fired beyond Ollie Lesley in the Town goal.
Borg's side pulled one back seven minutes before the break when Jamie Richards netted following good work from Neil Cousins.
Summer addition Cousins hit the bar in the second half but Enfield could not find an equaliser against the Ryman League Division One North side and slipped to defeat.
Enfield Town: Lesley, Lockie, Stevens, Doyle, Hastings, Pyper, Whitely, Livings, Richards, Cousins, Campbell.
Subs used: Smyth, Kalu, Adedeji, Kane, Illsley, Hunter, Hahn.
Attendance: 157.
