The Tottenham trio of Jan Vertonghen, Nacer Chadli and Moussa Dembele helped Belgium beat the USA 2-1 in extra-time to reach the World Cup quarter-finals last night.
Centre-back Vertonghen was the only one of the three to start as the two sides traded blows throughout the 90 minutes without making the breakthrough.
Chadli came on as a substitute in extra-time, whilst Dembele remained an unused substitute.
Belgium finally took the lead in injury time after forcing USA goalkeeper Tim Howard into a record number of saves in a World Cup match.
Kevin de Bruyne scored the goal for the Red Devils three minutes into extra-time before Romelu Lukaku scored his first of the tournament to double the lead.
Jurgen Klinsmann's USA refused to give up though, and in the second-half of extra-time, Bayern Munich starlet Julian Green stuffed a volley in the top corner to haul the United States back into the contest.
The Red Devils held firm though, and will now face Argentina in the World Cup quarter finals.
