Enfield golfer Luke Cuschieri has seen his handicap cut by five for the next Hertfordshire Future Tours event.

The 10-year-old was the Division One nett winner at the last event, held at Redbourn Golf Club in St Albans, posting a nett score of 22.5.

Cuschieri was competing 'on tour' as one of 92 boys and girls at the 2014 season opener of Herts Futures Tour.

Forty four children were awarded their first Futures Tour handicap, with the lowest gross score on the day being an impressive five over par 32.

On tour, each child is assigned to one of three houses: the Hawks, Falcons or Kites and a team trophy is also awarded at each event.

The tour moves on to more of the best par three courses in the area, with one tournament a month from April to October.

Now in its fifth year, the Futures Tour is open to boys and girls between the ages of six and 12.

The next event is at Stevenage Golf Club on June 22. Application forms are available on the www.hertfordshirejuniorgolf.info website and Herts County Ladies Golf Association website under the 'juniors' section.
