Luke Ellis has been crowned the Enfield Ignatians' player of the year, capping a superb maiden season at first-team level.

The former colt was the forwards' top try scorer with ten strikes and he takes over the mantle from Sam Clark.

Coach Emile Hertz said: "Luke played consistently well all season and won the respect of his fellow players. He made the hooker's spot his own and was particularly adept at scoring tries off the back of driving mauls."

Full-back Dan Savagar was named as top trainer with prop and former colt, Luke Stack, coming out on top in the most improved player category.

George Barker was the second team's player of the year awarrd following a string of fine performances which helped his side win the title.

Captain Andy Roper said: "George had a great season. played in any position, and put his body on the line every week. He tackled his heart out and was very good at offloading in the tackle."

Ben Pratt and Paul Duke shared the most improved award.

Pete Langan, having successfully covered both half-back positions, was crowned the third's team's player of the season.

Captain Bish Galloway said: "Pete was a rock solid performer for us all season. He never had a bad game and never let the side down."

George Rutt won the most improved accolade.

James Okoro, a prolific try-scorer, was the fourth team's player of the year with Peter Davies and Harry Jenner sharing the player's player award.
