Everton have joined the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend this summer.

The 22-year-old winger has also been subject of interest from Newcastle United after falling down the pecking order at White Hart Lane.

Townsend - who made his international debut for England this season - started the season in flying form but when Tim Sherwood replaced Andre Villas-Boas, saw his playing time decrease dramatically.

The Leytonstone-born wideman has since suffered an anke injury which as ruled him out of England's World Cup squad this summer.
