Spurs head coach Tim Sherwood says he was 'gutted' his side were not able to grab a fourth goal to beat West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

Albion were 3-0 up after 31 minutes, with goals from Matej Vydra, Chris Brunt and Stephane Sessegnon putting the Baggies in complete control.

Spurs looked to get one back from the penalty spot at 2-0 down, but Emmanuel Adebayor could not beat Ben Foster from 12 yards.

In the 34th minute Spurs got their first, Jonas Olsson deflecting a Kyle Naughton cross over Foster.

Harry Kane got his second goal in as many games with 20 minutes to go, before Christian Erikson struck a superb equaliser in the fourth minute of injury time to salvage a point.

Speaking to the club's official site afterwards, Sherwood said: “It was thoroughly deserved, in my opinion.

"We made a very poor start, gifted them three goals, but at 3-0 down I still thought we could go on to win the game.

"We were opening them up and I knew those chances would continue to come."

Sherwood felt that his side were making chances, even at 3-0 down, and used half-time to relay his confidence to his players.

“At half-time we said ‘stay relaxed, your chances will come'," said Sherwood.

"There was belief in there, no panic. Harry scored a great goal and then a fantastic finish from Christian at the end.

"Even then, we wanted to win it. There were two minutes to go and we had opportunities to get in behind again.

"In the end, we had 20 shots at goal and we’re gutted to come away without the three points."
