Romelu Lukaku is in line for a shock move to Spurs this summer according to the Daily Mail, but only if Chelsea can land Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa.

The highly-rated Belgian, 20, has scored 12 Premier League goals in 22 starts whilst on loan at Everton this season, adding to the 17 he grabbed in just 20 starts with West Bromwich Albion last season.

With the future of Chelsea's three senior strikers up in the air at the end of the season, the Blues are understood to be targetting Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa, casting further doubt over Lukaku's future at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of the season.

Costa, 25, has scored 25 La Liga goals in 29 outings for Atleti this season, with the Madrid outfit currently sitting atop of the La Liga standings, two points ahead of Barcelona in second.

The January departure of Jermain Defoe to Toronto has left Spurs with only two senior strikers - the rejuvinated Emmanuel Adebayor and the out-of-sorts Roberto Soldado, who has come in for much criticism since joining for a club record fee of £26m from Valencia at the end of the season.
