All roads lead to Allianz Park for Enfield Ignatians as the club head to the home of Saracens on Saturday for 12 hours of continuous rugby in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

The unique event, which begins at 9.15am, culminates with the London Two North-East floodlit clash between Ignatians’ first team and promotion chasing Saffron Walden at 7.30pm.

Ignatians’ youth chairman Harold Pritchard: “It’s a free event and should be a lot of fun. We would like to invite the people of Enfield to join us and support us at Allianz Park.”

Ignatians’ senior teams have been grounded because of the bad weather but the first, second and fourth sides returned to action at the weekend.

An impressive display saw Ignatians’ first team complete a dominant 35-14 victory against Stowmarket in London Two North-East.

Rob Wyer, Adam Smith, Dan Savagar and Tan Mbonu all crossed in the opening period and a successful Smith penalty and conversion underpinned a dominant 25-0 half-time lead.

Less incisive after the break, Ignatians still managed to add two more tries through Wyer’s brace and Cypriot international, Christo Kasabi, who produced a fine performance.

Stowmarket added two tries of their own but Ignatians, who had Andy Roper sin-binned in the second-half, were always in control.

Coach Emile Hertz said: “We dominated the game and Stowmarket never really got a look in. The opposition were coming off a convincing win against Basildon but we played some quality rugby and, consequently, the visitors were always chasing the game.”

The second and fourth teams followed suit by clocking up respective Herts-Middlesex Merit Table wins against Fullerians Twos (56-0) and Black Horse (48-14).

Coach places are still available for the trip to Allianz Park at the weekend and can be booked via Nikki Wooster by emailing nikkiwooster@tiscali.co.uk.
