Italy manager Cesare Prandelli is reportedly keen on managing Tottenham after this summers’ World Cup if he receives a formal offer from the club.

The Evening Standard Standardunderstands Prandelli has been in contact with ntermediaries about moving to Spurs.

Prandelli has a close relationship Tottenham’s technical director, Franco Baldini and Italian sources revealed that initial contact was made after the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas in December.

However, it is believed that no official approach has been made and with Villas-boas’s successor, Tim Sherwood, steadying the ship and under contract until the end of next season, depending if he manages to guide Tottenham to a top four finish, it wouldn’t be so easy for the board to sack him.

Prandelli’s CV is a good one. He managed to keep Italian clubs Parma and Fiorentina in the higher regions of Serie A and bought Italy home in second place in the European Championships in 2012.

The deal does depend on whether Baldini does remain at the club after being put through scrutiny after Tottenham’s record signing, Erik Lamela’s, less than spectacular season after his recommendation.

Another possible stumbling block could be that Tottenham’s chairman, Daniel Levy, admires Louis Van Gaal, who is expected to end his spell in charge of Holland after the World Cup; and if an agreement can be reached, it looks as though the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich man would be favoured.
