Edmonton Eagles Amateur Boxing Club held their first show of 2014 at the Haringey Irish Centre on Thursday and a 400 strong crowd were in attendance to watch the club’s young fighters.
Representatives from the police, council, schools and local trusts, as well as families and friends, were entertained by ten highly competitive bouts.
The Eagles fighters competed excellently against opponents from different boxing clubs and Eagles’ Nick Parpa was named boxer of the night.
Eagles head coach Doctor Costakis Evangelou was delighted with the event. He said: “It was another hugely successful night for the club in providing an evening where our young stars trained hard and boxed magnificently.
“It’s an event for the whole community to come together and enjoy.
“We had so many people present of all ages, cultures and backgrounds gathered together in a unique atmosphere of unity, respect and support.”
