Michael Dawson and Austin Healey have questioned England boss Stuart Lancaster's decision to leave Saracens winger David Strettle out of his Six Nations squad.

Strettle, 30, scored three tries for the Men in Black against Connacht on Saturday and is currently European club rugby's top try scorer.

The Sarries winger has four tries in the Heineken Cup and eight in the the Premiership but Lancaster continues to ignore Strettle on the international stage.

Dawson said he was "bewildered" at Lancaster's decision to leave out "the best winger in the country" which he described as "astonishing".

Healey admitted he was "flabbergasted" at Strettle's omission.

Strettle has 14 caps for his country. He said: "It can get a bit frustrating at times but you've just got to use it as added motivation and concentrate on taking care of what you do at your club."
