Enfield Ignatians suffered a disappointing home loss against Holt as Emile Hertz’s side went down 38-17 in London Two North-East.

Despite a dominant first 15 minutes, Ignatians failed to tuck away some good chances and Holt took comfort from the Blue and Golds' failings by running up a 19-5 half-time lead after landing tries from Tom Jackson, Robbie Gray and Ashley Woods.

Ignatians kept themselves in the hunt following a pushover score from Wes Warren in the final minute of the opening period and they made further in-roads in the second half when winger Christian Adofo went over.

However, Holt extended their advantage following a try from Bruce van Poortvliet before Ignatians replied through winger Tan Mbonu in the corner.

But Holt completed a miserable afternoon for sixth-placed Ignatians by adding further tries from Woods and Matt Jary-Ryan.

Ignatians are away to Ipswich in the league on January 25.

Ignatians Twos were beaten 21-15 against Finchley Twos in Herts-Middlesex Merit Table Two while the Threes clinched a 15-15 draw against Hackney Twos in Herts-Middlesex Merit Table Three.

Faz Perdoni and Chris Byrne scored tries for Ignatians with James Power rifling over a penalty and conversion.

The Fours completed a 23-12 win against Weston in Herts-Middlesex Merit Table Six thanks to tries from Harry Piper, Xavier Babington and Paul Horswood. Babington also added two penalties and a conversion.

Enfield Ignatians Under-17s had a field day at the expense of Saracens B in Herts-Middlesex Division Four after winning their clash 57-7. Although for official purposes the win is recorded as 45-0.

Jerome Yates (three), Dillon Adabie (two), Aydin Ozsakin, Lewis White, Tom Sears, Alex Bucknall all scored in a nine-try romp.
