Northampton Exiles claimed a victory against Rickmansworth but suffered relegation from Herts Cricket League Division Four
1:00pm Tuesday 10th September 2013 in Sport
A five-wicket victory against Rickmansworth on the final day of the Herts Cricket League season wasn’t enough for Northampton Exiles who were relegated from Division Four.
Exiles needed to win and hope results went in their favour if they were to avoid the drop. Ricky batted first and an impressive bowling display from the visitors meant they were dismissed for just 127.
That put Northampton in control of the game and they chased down the runs inside the 30th over.
However, Ampthill Town Seconds played out a nervy draw against Berkhampstead which condemned Exiles to Division Five.
Northampton Exiles Seconds rounded off their Division Eight campaign with a commanding eight-wicket victory over Totteridge Millhillians Fourths.
There was relegation heartache for Northampton Exiles Thirds as a five-wicket defeat to Potton Town Seconds was them drop out of Division 11.
