Real Madrid reportedly offer Fabio Coentrao to deal to sign Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur

Real Madrid are ready to up the ante further in their quest to land Gareth Bale by adding Portuguese wing-back Fabio Coentrao to the mega deal, according to Sky Sports’ Gianluca Di Marzio.
Spurs have so far rebuffed all offers from the La Liga giants’ for their 24-year-old Welsh star, including a reported £82m swoop to break the world transfer fee record at the end of last month, but Real now appear to want to sweeten the deal with the addition of the former Benfica man to their already hefty bid.
Writing on his website, Di Marzio believes the deal has moved a step closer in the past few hours, although the total amount of the cash-plus-player deal is still unclear, with Spurs hoping to hold out for their own valuation of £100m.
Di Marzio said: “Gareth Bale to Real Madrid, here we go. The transfer to the Spanish club has been accelerated in the past few hours.”
He added: “It remains to be seen whether the Portuguese will lower the amount of cash that will go into the Tottenham coffers or if it will be added to the £93m. Now Tottenham have a small budget to invest in the market and Real Madrid wins Bale.”
Bale missed Tottenham’s opening Premier League win over new boys Crystal Palace on Sunday through injury and according to manager Andre Villas-Boas is unlikely to be selected for Spurs’ next two matches against Dinamo Tbilisi in the Europa League and the league visit of Swansea City this weekend as the saga rolls on.
