Tottenham Hotspur step up interest in Ajax's Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld

Spurs are believed to have made an offer for Ajax’s highly-rated young duo, Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld.
Eriksen, a 21 year-old Danish attacking midfielder and Alderweireld, a 24 year-old Belgian centre-back, have both attracted significant interest from around Europe this summer, with Alderweireld turning down the opportunity to join Norwich City earlier in the summer.
The pair were central to Ajax’s Eredivisie title win last season under Frank de Boer, with Eriksen chipping in ten goals from 33 starts in midfield.
The Danish international has already scored twice in as many starts this season Alderweireld has just entered the final 12 months of his contract with the Amsterdam club and director of football Marc Overmars told de Telegraaf that an offer for the 25-cap Belgian international has been received.
"We have received an offer,” Overmars revealed. "We won't give any names as we are still in talks.
"But, just like with Norwich City earlier, I expect we can work out a deal with this club."
Liverpool, Everton and Spartak Moscow have all shown an interest in Alderweireld too.
