Steve Newing has revealed Enfield Town striker Scott McGleish has been the target of a seven day approach from a fellow Ryman Premier side.
The former Barnet and Leyton Orient forward joined the club at the beginning of the year and has scored ten goals in 12 matches for the Towners.
"Scott has been fantastic for us since joining," Newing said. "He has scored around a goal a game and his attitude has been first class.
"The seven day approach has come from a team that are in the hunt for promotion. He is a credit to the club and I of course hope he will stay.
"I hope he sees it as a challenge to help keep us in the league. If I am honest, I am surprised that we haven’t had an approach for him sooner."
