Saracens fly-half Owen Farrell faces a race against time to be fit for England's Six Nations match against Italy a week on Sunday.
The talented number ten sustained an injury to his quad muscle against France last weekend and according to the RFU will not train this week.
The RFU's official twitter account wrote Stuart Lancaster had said: "Owen is still recovering from his tight quad muscle & probably won't train this week."
England released ten players from international duty to play for their clubs this weekend including Saracens pair David Strettle and Joel Tomkins.
