Tottenham Hotspur target Mehdi Benatia is being tracked by Anzhi Makhachkala, according to talkSPORT.
The Udinese defender has impressed this season and is being watched by several top European clubs including Spurs, Chelsea and AC Milan.
But Anzhi have emerged as the front-runners for the 25-year-old's signature and could deal their rivals a blow by making a move before the Russian transfer window closes on February 24.
Benatia has been a Morocco international since 2008 and will command around £13m.
