Iago Falque laid down his first team credentials with two sensational goals in Tottenham Under-21s' 4-0 victory over Southampton at White Hart Lane last night.
The Spanish winger applied a sublime finish after Dean Parrett made a 70-yard break to open the scoring before Jon Obika glanced home Tom Carroll's cross to make it 2-0 early on.
Falque was on target again just before half time, smashing a left-foot screamer off the post and into the top corner to make it 3-0 at the break.
The second period was a tighter affair but there was still time for Souleymane Coulibaly to round off the victory in the 81st minute with a long-distance strike.
The result continues an impressive run of form which has seen the Under-21s register four victories on the bounce, scoring 18 goals in the process.
