Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen admits his side's 1-0 defeat to Wigan was disappointing but insists the club have to stick together with important matches ahead.
The former Ajax defender went close himself against the Latics on Saturday and has been one of Tottenham's most impressive performers this season.
Vertonghen told the club website: “The team is strong enough to come back from this defeat.
“We have a lot of important games ahead, important games in Europe and difficult away games.
"We have to stick together. We know we’re strong in away games and we can win at any away ground.”
Vertonghen admitted the result against Wigan was disappointing particularly given results elsewhere.
He said: “We had problems with their system, but normally we turn it around.
“We just couldn’t do it and it was a shame for the fans because it was a big opportunity with Arsenal losing, plus Fulham and Everton drawing. Overall, it was very disappointing.”
Tottenham will be looking to bounce back when they host NK Maribor in the Europa League on Thursday.
