Enfield Judo Club’s Prisca Awiti-Alcaraz claims gold at UK championships

Enfield Judo Club’s Prisca Awiti-Alcaraz claimed a gold medal at the junior UK national championships in Sheffield.

Despite a tricky draw, Awiti-Alcaraz managed to comfortably come through to claim victory in the final in the under-63kg category and reaffirmed her status as number one in the country.

There was also success for Georgia Greenidge as she collected bronze in her first ever nationals meet, while Rhys Thompson also placed third with a strong performance in the under-73kg competition.

Joshua Awiti-Alcaraz was unlucky not to come away with a medal as he lost in the bronze under-55kg final but still claimed fifth place and an invitation to train with British squad.
