I was interested to read about Andy Burnham’s visit to Enfield.
What he had to say about people having trouble seeing their GP really struck a chord.
My wife recently contacted our Riley Road Surgery for an appointment. She phoned on April 1 and was booked in for April 19 – 20 days for an appointment. This is the case with many people I have spoken to on this issue.
The current situation in Enfield can’t have been helped by the fact so many local surgeries have closed their doors over recent years.
We are crying out for more GPs in the borough and better primary care. I, for one, was heartened by Mr Burnham’s pledge that the Labour Party would honour the promises of GP services in Enfield and recruit more doctors in London.
