I refer to your article regarding the need for a second air ambulance (‘Air ambulance figures reveal need for second helicopter’, Enfield Independent, March 18).
Your readers might wish to know that the Freemasons of London started a campaign on March 1 to raise £2million for the purchase of a second helicopter for the London Air Ambulance service. The money will be raised (in the main) by personal donations made just by the Freemasons.
The aim is to raise this sum within the next 18/24 months. To start things off, they have already made a donation on March 5 of £250,000 to representatives of the service.
