I am very sad to read of the death of Mark Channel, head of accident and emergency department at North Middlesex Hospital.
I had many dealings with him over many months when my beloved husband Gerard was treated there.
Mr Channel asked how Gerard was many times and saw that he was comfortable, especially when he had renal dialysis at the hospital. I was very bemused to read that MP David Burrowes was left on a trolley for 13 hours in the hospital.
It’s a sad indictment that both Labour and the Conservatives decided to shut the casualty unit at Chase Farm. North Middlesex cannot cope with more capacity. A decision that ought to be reversed, Chase Farm should be reopened, but it will never happen.
