For many years, there has been a telegraph pole with 14 overhead telephone wires opposite our upstairs bedroom. There was always an abundance of sparrows flying around and they would settle on the wires – resembling, at times, notes on a music score. They have now all disappeared completely.
All we see now are large blackbirds, crows, magpies and pigeons walking on the roof tops, gutters and chimney pots. Where are the sparrows?
