I couldn’t believe it when I read park gates could be left unlocked all night. Are they living in the 1940s/1950s, when people could be trusted not to steal and leave their rubbish or smash seats and statues? As a member of Friends of Bury Lodge Park, I am appalled that they could even consider leaving the gates open to give an invitation for anyone to help themselves to any new bedding plants and anything else that can be loaded into vehicles driven into the park. And of course, the pond is an ideal place to leave bottles and tins etc.
Out of sight, out of mind. Come on Enfield Borough Council, move with the times. It will be false economy if you then have to spend thousands on a clear-up campaign.
