Like Patricia Whitmarsh I was disgusted to find when taking my mother to the Ukrainian Festival at Forty Hall that the disabled bays had been replaced by cycle racks (‘Park users’ anger at bay removals’, Enfield Independent, September 10).

My mother is blind and aged 97 and can only walk a short distance with a stick. Fortunately that day we were able to squeeze in by the cafe wall along with several other cars in the same predicament. As for the mobility scooters, they are only available from the hall itself – an impossible distance from the car park – and blind people cannot use them.

Thanks Forty Hall parks for providing cycle racks for fit healthy people and denying disabled people the pleasure of the park and the lake.

Why not remove one of the disabled bays in the car park and put the racks there?
