Having just had the privilege of spending the last five weeks of my mum’s life at her bedside at Chase Farm Hospital, I can honestly say that the staff there deserve a medal for the work they do.
My mum was treated with dignity and respect until the end.
Despite the long hours worked, the staff were tireless in their efforts to ensure the comfort and safety of all their patients.
They were kind to those who did not have visitors, sharing their own gifts of chocolates and sweets with them, and making time to keep them company.
They laughed (and cried) with us, and had genuine concern for our family at such a sad time.
I hope this letter is published so that they know how much that their hard work and dedication is appreciated.
Thank you to all on Napier Ward, I don’t know what we would have done without you.
